Kids Beach Towels
When you are looking for kids beach towels, you want something more than a standard towel. Problems that you might want to solve are stopping the towel falling off, sun protection, keeping them warm, particularly there head, lightweight and absorbent. You also want something that will last and is good value for money, if you have more than one child you can pass them down and get great use out of them.
Kids want something fun, bright and easy to use and don’t get in the way of playing. One of the first developments of standard kids beach towels was the kind that goes over your head and you wear a bit like a poncho. You quite often find them sold in beach shops in coastal towns and they come with bright Disney style characters designs. These were definite improvement on the standard towel because they couldn’t fall off, but they still didn’t keep you warm.
Since then companies making these towels have had arms and hoods added to make them much more practical. I have used these towels with my kids but as kids beach towels I still had a number of problems with them. One of the strangest things I found was that the towelling was on the outside and the inside was not absorbent, I can’t believe that no one had realised how ridiculous this is. The other problem I found was that the towel had to go over the children’s heads and when they are wet this is not that easy and made the children not that keen to wear them.
Since then I have found kids beach towels that solve this problem, they have towelling on the inside and out and they go on like a coat wrapping round the child and fastening up at the side. It is such a revelation and makes life so much easier and of course children are happier.
Of course these towels don’t have to just be used on the beach; they are fantastic for everyday bath time and also fantastic for swimming lessons. I think the best thing about them is that they don’t fall off and cover really well and therefore stop the children getting cold, in addition to this they are great for covering up from the sun when the children are playing on the beach.
When you are looking at buying kids beach towels, it is worth shopping around and seeing what you can get, you can use my tips to find something that does the job, but remember to look for value for money. It is fine to buy something cheap, but it may be worth spending a bit more if you are going to use it a lot and pass it down to other children. You may also want to think about buying a neutral colour so you can pass it down to a boy or girl.
