Natural Colour Cotton is the bench mark of
quality assurance for naturally pigmented cotton fibre that grows
in shades of brown, green and beige. It is organically grown, leaving
no environmental footprint whatsoever. The whole process from planting
to growing to spinning uses no dyes or toxic or harmful substances.
It is 100% pure and natural and creates a beautiful, breathable,
pure fabric with a soft and delicate feel. There is nothing better
to have next to baby’s
skin. This natural material is softer, smoother, safer and more comfortable
than regular cotton; the most environmentally friendly fabric possible.
CWB Childrenswear Buyer, Jan 2006, confirms
that after tests by one of the world’s leading specialists in textile testing;
“Natural Coloured Cotton is cotton that isn’t dyed but
is actually coloured as it grows. One thing we have found is that
this organic cotton is stronger in terms of tearing and strength
and is more resistant to abrasion. This is probably due to the lack
of processing that it goes through.
There are distinct advantages in terms of
the environment and for the child wearing it”
As with all natural fibres, shades vary from crop to crop. Natural
Colour Cotton is unique because it will not fade but may actually
go a darker shade if washed with alkaline detergents. Wash at 40
C, do not bleach and use colour safe detergents only. The use of
other products may affect the natural colour of the cotton.
